The loop comes to a rather depressing end; Nerine realizes there is nothing sh can do or say that will make him accept Floette's passing, and stop him from unleashing that weapon onto the world. She hugs him from behind. She apologizes that she can do nothing for Kalos itself, or him and the thousands of years of regret he will have.
As she leaves him, finally walking out of this tale... AZ looks over his shouder. For the first time, he sees her.
