A Q & A regarding my selfship with Theseus and Asterius! All questions are from this post! More may be added later on, but we'll see...! Please don't feel obligated to read all or any of this, but if you do, thank you so much for your interest in my relationship with my king and bull
I will be switching between using first person I or referring to Dianthus by name depending on which makes the question easier to answer.
1. what’s something you do to feel closer to them? fanfics, listen to songs, etc.
I'm tempted to say "read fanfiction," but I honestly haven't done that in quite awhile! Mostly because there's been nothing new with them, and I'm not always in the mood to reread things. However, creating fanworks for them, as well as extended lore and headcanons, does help me in this regard!
2. how did you get introduced to your f/o and/or their media? do you like their source?
I love Hades game! I'm not judging those who do, but I could never selfship into a series where the story / world / lore do not interest me! As for introductions, I first saw the game on twitter... but did not become interested in playing myself until seeing a video of Theseus about to cry. more on this later.
3. what’s one or two things you especially like about your f/o? can be a headcanon!
I love Theseus' strong sense of justice and his flair for dramatics. I love Theseus' big eyebrows and loud voice. I love Asterius' confidence and his patience... and his cute snout and how he's so sad so noble and so masculine and so secure in himself despite his background.
4. what’s one or two things your f/os love about you?
Asterius loves how gentle I am. He loves that I am accepting of him and his past- even some of the "uglier" aspects. He loves my love for music and the natural world, how I love to teach him about flowers. Theseus loves my undying curiousity, the fact that I love to read. He loves my body and how soft it is, and he loves that he can be himself around me.
5. how do you express your love to them? how do they express their love to you?
I like to pamper them both...! In sweet words and with physical touch. They're never left wandering just how much I want them and love them because I make sure to express it in every way I can, with gestures and with gifts. They are my muses.
Theseus loves giving gifts to those he cares about, and I am no exception. He is expensive and elaborate with them, sometimes to the point of going overboard... Asterius' love is more reserved, but not any smaller. He expresses his love thru soft touches and thru gentle conversation. He is a comforting warmth to Theseus' thrill and excitement- and I love these things about them!
6. a gift you’d like to give them if you could, and something they’d give to you!
7. what do you celebrate together? like halloween, christmas time, easter, etc.
8. do you sleep together? is it peaceful or filled with snoring? do you both stay up? tell us more! ( how you sleep, when you sleep, do you wake up at the same time? )
9. what’s one thing you can’t do well that the other can, vice versa ( e.g cooking, playing video games, so on and so forth )
10. do you have similar tastes in fashion? aesthetic? food? tell us about their taste!
11. how do they tend to comfort you? how do you tend to comfort them?
12. if you have a rival or nemesis f/o, why? are there any lore reasons or is it just because?

14. what is your favorite fan theory/headcanon about them?
Not really a "theory" as much as it is heavily implied but not outrigth stated in canon- Theseus is a deeply, deeply insecure person, and this insecurity is caused the fact he feels undeserving of his place within Elysium. I also like the idea that Asterius and Ariadne had a cordial, but not exactly positive, relationship with one another before the Labyrinth happened.

Theseus loves the scent of the salty seas, the sky before a storm, grass recently wet with rain. Asterius prefers sweeter, fruity scents. Apples and pomegranates.
17. is there anything commonly misunderstood about your f/o?
A lot of people don't get Theseus at all... no one is obligated to like him, of course, he's written as intentionally annoying. But when i see people calling him an abuser and insisting Asterius is only there due to force... I get mad! Theseus is fussy, they have disagreements, but that does not consitute abuse! Not only that, but Asterius stays with Theseus by his own free will because he likes Theseus! He likes (he loves(!)) Theseus and fighting alongside him. If Asterius was truly trapped there, unable to leave, then why on earth(!) would Theseus be scared about Asterius leaving him for Zagreus?? Have it make sense!
18. one thing you don’t have in common, and one thing you do
19. how do you resolve conflicts? how do you both typically react when faced with conflict or whilst dealing with an argument?
20. have you met their friends/family? how did that go? do they even keep in contact with their friends/family?

I tend to like characters that are morally complex... characters who, at some point, where a "bad person" for many complicated reasons, and are trying now to find redemption. But I don't mean redemption in the sense of a huge awe-inspiring character arc that takes up 5 seasons, I like it as a small thing. Slowly changing habits, slowly improving, slowly becoming better than they were before. I'm disinterested in redemption as a grand gesture, and deeply interested in redemption that is personal. "I want to learn how to live with myself. I want to learn how to love myself and this wonderful world. I want to see beauty where I wasn't able to before."
27. do you have any favorite scenarios you like to imagine your f/os in? ( domestic fluff, angsty, etc. )
28. have you ever thought about ( platonic or not ) marriage? would you consider it a good idea? why or why not?

I'd make them both canonically mixed with black!!! Theseus is a quarter Ethiopian Asterius is a quarter Nigerian!!

Theseus' big eyebrows and hooked nose oh my god and I think Asterius' eyes are gorgeous and I love his snout and his horns. And his big hands.

Theseus is so loud and so weird and so obnoxious I find it adorable!! Asterius can't understand sarcasm; he's very serious and stern, but also silly too. It's cute as well!

A princess and her two knights... (or perhaps they're the three stooges).

Theseus called Zagreus a cumstain once. Specifically an "unfiliable, shameful, preconceiving stain upon the earth."
39. who’s more likely to be the sappy, cheesy romantic in the relationship?

41. if you were in an emergency or stressful situation, which one of you’s the best at staying level headed keeping the other calm? who is the one absolutely freaking out?

Physical touch is one of Theseus' love languages.... he loves touch he needs it!! Hand holding hugging face touching arm grabbing he does it all... Asterius meanwhile is much more reserved. While he is capable of gentleness... he does at times feel a bit nervous about the idea of touching a "delicate" lady. It's part of why he loves that I have a thicker, chubby body...! I'm not nearly as fragile as others.
47. any funny or awkward moments you've experienced with them?

Theseus already is a worm. metaphorically. and yet i want him so bad.

In the beginning I only romantically shipped with Theseus, and placed Asterius more into a platonic category. But as time went on the vision of Asterius and Dianthus kissing would not leave me...

Words cannot describe how badly I want an Asterius plushie. Or a figma based on the iconic canova statue!

I personally am not a fan of isekai scenarios (they stress me out for some reason), but in the rare occassion I do I always bring them to My world- though make it so the worlds can be easiliy traveled between as well.

I am not at all interested in heavy canon divergence! The closer I can stick to canon, the happier I am!

Theseus: honey, the sea, dandelions, rockroses, strawberry trees, gold.
Asterius: the stars, poppy flowers, apples, fantasy books, strength.

When Theseus was about 8 years old, his cousin Heracles came to visit, and laid his lion-cloak down in Theseus' home. Theseus, as well as some of his peers, saw the cloak. The other children ran away scared, but Theseus attempted to pull out a sword on the "beast."
Asterius' name means "little star," following a trend in his family. His mother, Pasiphae, is "wide-shining," his sister, Phaedra, is "light." Pasiphae herself is the daughter of the sun god Helios.
